Red House Seafood Restaurant is located a Robertson Quay, Singapore. This is one of them, another one located at East Coast Seafood Centre, Singapore.

Red House Seafood Restaurant at Robertson Quay has a cosmopolitan feel to the interior.

The modern interior designed by the acclaimed architects of GreenhilLi.

There’s a very huge ceiling fan called the ‘Big Ass’ fans measuring 7 metres in diameter. Not in the photo though.

Even the menu is red.

This peanut was given to us while we wait for our food. It’s not FOC. It’s charged along with the wet towel. It’s automatically charged to your bill so don’t be surprised about it.

We ordered Chinese tea to go with our dinner. The tea was free flow but I don’t have the price with me.

Let’s see what we had for our dinner:

Signature Creamy Custard Prawn(SGD7 for 100gm)

Braised Spinach Tofu & Honshimeji Mushroom topped with Crisp Conpoy (small, SGD14)

New Zealand Tender Venison on Sizzling Hot Plate(medium, SGD27)

Red House Mee Goreng(small, SGD12)

Braised Ee Fu Noodle with Assorted Mushroom and Chives(small, SGD10)

Sambal Kang Kong(small, SGD10)

Don’t you think the prices were a bit steep? It’s OK to indulge once in a while and the food were pretty good.

Hoi Tin Lau is located at somewhere behind the shoplot of Guardian at Jalan Mendu. It used to be located at Continental Hotel. They specialized in Chinese food.

Had the opportunity to try out the food last month and let’s see what we had. No actual food name and price available though, just want to show you the food:

Peanuts for you to savour while waiting for your food to be served. This is not free, there’s a charge for it.

Midin, it’s not the usual type that cook with sambal, this is sweet and sour and it’s served cold. Great for appetizer.

I assume this is seafood noodle.

One of the combination dishes that you can order there. In this dish that we had, there were abalone, jellyfish and some other food that I can’t recall.

Venison / Deer meat.

Fried kailan, another dish that you can try out. I’m sure not many people tried this dish before. The kailan leaves were deep fried and it’s very crispy.

Lastly, buttered prawn. Buttered prawn fans might want to try this out.

I just realized I have a lot of food post from my KL trip last year that I haven’t share. All these while I thought I had already posted it. Therefore there will be several more posts of my food experiences in KL to share in near future.

I managed to stayed at Holiday Inn Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur for 3 days 2 nights(inclusive of breakfast) when I was in KL. In fact it’s located at Shah Alam. It was a complimentary stay by Holiday Inn.

We had our breakfast buffet at Kites Restaurant. Located at the lower ground floor of the hotel.

The restaurant overlooks a landscaped garden and swimming pool. It offers a wide variety of local and continental fare as well as a wide selections of snacks.

These are some of the food we had during our stay there:

Finally got the chance to try out the lunch buffet at The Eatery, Four Points by Sheraton a while back. Here are some of the food that I had eaten. I’m not that lucky, I was not allowed to take photos there even though I saw many bloggers managed to take quite a lot of photos there. I had to take the photos discretely.

Managed to steal a shoot from my seat. The section you see here is the candy section on the left and the bread section on the right.

These are some of the food that I had tasted, didn’t eat much though because wasn’t feeling very well and didn’t have much appetite.

From the appetizer section.

Some of the main course available at the continental food section.

These are some of the main course from the Asian food section.

Desserts from the dessert section, these are jellies and nata de coco, there were also kueh lapis, and various type of nicely decorated sponge cakes.

I heard you get lots of mussels and sashimi for the dinner buffet which I personally think it’s much more worth it.

Anyway, if you are wondering about the prices, the buffet is priced at (exclude tax and service charge):

RM38++ (lunch)

RM58++ (dinner)

Iced water is free flow.

Free flow soft drink will be charged at RM5++

Not sure about the price of coffee and tea but it is not free flow, one time only.

If you would like to dine there, be sure to call for reservation at 082-280888.

The Eatery is open daily from 7am-11pm.

I’m sure some of you that have been following sarawakian.net all these while know that Sharing Planet is no stranger to sarawakian.net. Do you know how Sharing Planet started? I’m sure many of you don’t know about it. So in this post, I’m going to share it with you.

Sharing Planet is the brainchild of Kent, one of the owners. Kent loves to travel. He’s an avid backpacker and photographer. He likes to take lots of pictures when he’s backpacking and when he’s back home, he will definitely share his photos with his friends.

Back then, digital photography was not heard of. He would be sharing his photo albums with friends at home. He found it difficult to share the stories behind the photos to his friends as everyone was flipping different photo album.

When digital photography came into his life, it made it easier for him to share his photos using computer. Still, he was not satisfied as the excitements were not really there. There’s something missing.

One day, an idea struck him when he went to do volunteer works in Taiyuan, Sanxi, China. He thought that he should set up a restaurant surrounded by nature, install a projector and screen in the restaurant. This will solve his problem in sharing his trips’ photos with his friends.

After 3 months of preparation works with his another 3 friends, finally Sharing Planet is born. The abandoned land next to one of his friends’ house is now Sharing Planet. The building is made from wood without using steel or glass. Everyone contributed something from their own house. The furniture, lighting fixtures, the pond, the curtains etc. have story of their own.

Very interesting don’t you think so?

Sharing Planet currently added some new items into the menu. Let’s see some of the new food added in the menu:

Sharing Giant Chicken Burger-RM15.80

It is really GIANT! This is one great dish to share with your friends. The diameter of the burger is 6-7 inches and the height of the burger is about 3-4 inches. The burger bread is specially custom made for this. You can find cheese, hams, onion rings, salad leaves, tomatoes and so on in the burger. Forget about your fork and knife, just eat it using your fingers. It tasted better and fun this way.

Ice Cream Chicken Chop-RM13.80

You don’t get this elsewhere, only Sharing Planet. Hot food with cold food? I’m sure you will think that both are odd combination. In fact if you’re in Tokyo, Japan, this is very common and popular dish there. The way to eat this is by mixing the ice cream with the sauce and then savours the mixture with the chicken meat. However, if you don’t fancy doing so, you can find your own way of eating this dish. Be creative!

Done with the two new dishes, here are some of the all time favourites of Sharing Planet:

Special Grill Lamb Loin - RM25.80

Selected lamb loin topped with black pepper sauce with daily vegetables, grilled herbs tomato and mashed potatoes that many people like to order when they dine at Sharing Planet.

Carbonara - RM11.80

Spaghetti with creamy mushroom sauce, turkey ham and rich mozzarella cheese.

Sharing Planet is a great place to hang out with your friends. Order some food and share them with your friends. At the same time, share your life stories with each other too.  WiFi is available too. So you can share even more with your friends.

Isn’t the spirit of sharing great?

Tian Sian Steamboat comes complete with more than fifty types of Chinese herbs as its base. The soup base is all about natural flavouring that aids in improving health and well-being. Most importantly, it does not contain any preservatives.

The special thing about this steamboat is that they do not provide you with any condiment as the soup base is already rich enough and you do not need other things to spoil the taste.

You can choose to have the original, spicy, vegetarian or the combo (original or spicy) soup base. Small soup base(RM30) is available for those with 3 or less people or the large soup base(RM35) for a group of 4 and above.

This is not your average steamboat place. It serves only premium quality ingredients, from its Taiwan specialty meatballs, to fresh ostrich meat and the many varieties of vegetarian ingredients.

Furthermore, it’s air-conditioned.

You should also try out Tian Sian Specialty Tea, a special in-house brew.

If you are not into steamboat but into coffee, Tian Sian serves the finest Bristot coffee beans imported from Belluno, Italy. Their expresso coffee bean, the Bristot Tiziano contains 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta blend.

The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner from 10.00am to 11.00pm serving a la carte menu for steamboat. Reservations can also be made for private functions and the restaurant is able to cater to a maximum of 100 persons.
