Ever heard of Donushi by Big Apple Donuts & Coffee?

Sounds interesting right? Bought a box few days back to try. This is the box for 28 Donushi, RM28. If you want smaller box, then it’s RM23 for 18 Donushi.

We tried 13 types but you can only see 10 here because we didn’t take the photos of the other Donushi and some were too ugly because we accidentally tilted the box in the car and they were a mess!

DO-TAKUWAN, feel the passion of Papaya.

DO-NARUTO, enhanced with Strawberry Chocolate maze.

DO-FUTOMAKI, Kiwi fruit filing, Strawberry and Vanilla battle for supremacy as Orange bits take centre stage.

DO-IKABURI, coconut Vanilla with Chocolate lacings.

DO-TAI NIGIRI, the all Vanilla favourite with Coconut and Orange bits.

DO-TAMAGO, Purely Mango with a dab of Chocolate.

DO-TAKO, a fill of Vanilla, a thrill of Strawberry, a spill of chocolate.

DO-SAKE, strawberry complemented by lacings of Coconut delight.

Very interesting don’t you think so? If I’m not mistaken you can’t buy it at night, only until 7pm and it’s on first come first serve basis.

Heard of Mr. Baoz! before? I got to know about it few years back but only had the opportunity to try it out during my previous trip to KL. Found the outlet at Food Republic, Pavilion. Immediately we bought some to try.

Since there was promotion that time and we bought the promo set, 4 baby Mr. Baoz for RM1.70/each. Original price was RM1.80/each.

Forgot what we had tried though, I might get the names wrong and the names are not in order:

We had BBQ Chicken(from Royal Delicacy series), Winter Romance(from Chocolate Serise), Chicken Sate Baoz(from Royal Delicacy series), and Snowflake Taro Baoz(from snowflake series).

Wonder will this franchise come to Kuching in near future. Do you think people here will accept it or not? A simple normal bao can also be so cute!

Premier 101 has so many eateries, one of them is Yeow Kee Kopitiam (尧记咖啡 店).

Paid a visit there the other day.

There were so many people! It’s so hard to find a place to sit, you have to have a lot of patience to wait for available seats.

Saw a stall selling Penang specialties and decided to order the food from this stall.

Cha kueh tiaw + clams (RM3.50)

That’s all we ordered. They also have other food too. What is there so special that makes the place always packed with people? Hmm…

It seems like Ipoh Town Kopitiam is expanding quite fast in Kuching. First outlet in Kuching is located at Boulevard Shopping Mall, then came another one at Brighton Square. Now the third one at Tun Jugah.

Their signature drink is Ipoh “White” Coffee. This roast coffee is prepared using a unique method that combines elements of modern approaches with traditional Malaysian brewing practices. The name “white coffee” is associated with Ipoh, the origin of this coffee.

They also served a variety of local favourites such as nasi lemak, curry chicken rice, variety of toast and more.

This one here is Xi Mu Milk Tea(RM2.60), I don’t drink coffee. I forgot to take photo of it, only remembered after a few sips ;p

Since it’s located at the golden triangle of Kuching, the place is always packed especially during lunch and tea breaks(morning and afternoon).

You can also find Ipoh Town Kopitiam in Miri. I came to know about this place when I went to Miri few years back. Few years later, it finally landed here in Kuching.

The operating hour is from 10am-10pm daily.

I know many Kuchingites are hoping that Burger King to come to Kuching but sadly they are not coming and I don’t think you will see Burger King here in Kuching any sooner.

My first encounter with Burger King was in Singapore and I had it almost everyday when I was there! Got hooked on it. The burgers were really nice. My second encounter with Burger King was in Genting Highlands, was thrilled when I saw that it’s there because it had been more than 5 years since my last feast at Burger King.

When we saw Burger King at KL Sentral, we were thrilled. Finally got to have it again. McD was packed to the max because of its value meals so for those who didn’t want to wait would go over to Burger King for their fast food fix. Burger King specialized in burgers rather than fried chicken, so this makes it different from McD or KFC.

Ordered 2 burgers(don’t remember what they were, it’s been 4 months ago) and a Whooper Jr. set(RM11.49) that came with a drink and fries.

Do you want Burger King to come here? Do you think it will affect other fast food outlets greatly if they do come? I guess it definitely will especially in the beginning of operation.

The latest shopping mall, Hills, has several eateries to offer for its shoppers. Marrybrown is one of the earliest eateries to open its door for business.

The interior design is quite colourful. Pardon the Chinese New Year decorations hahaha… This is because this photo was taken duirng Chinese New Year.

Had a simple dinner there with the coupons given to me from certain event. What you see here might vary from what you can get from their actual menu.

They do serve porridge in Marrybrown.

Also have nasi lemak.

Lastly, this is the usual fries and chicken set.

Old Time Coffee House has been operating for quite a while. It’s located at Petanak. There’s the little roundabout there, you will be able to spot it when you are at the roundabout.

You have to go to the  counter to order and they will send to you.

Nasi Lemak Special(RM6.90)

Curry Chicken Mee. You can get this by ordering the lunch set which is RM5.30(or RM5.80, I don’t quite remember the price) inclusive of a glass of Ice Teh O or Ice Coffee O.

I’m not so sure the whether they had changed the lunch set or not though.

Besides all these food, you can also get toasts or  soft boiled eggs for breakfast.

Go. Fun Kee Cafe is already operating for 6 years. Currently they have 6 outlets. There are 5 in Sarawak and the one in Taman Bukit Serdang is the 6th branch.

Go. Fun Kee recommended that you try only 2-4 types of food at a time, this will ensure that you get to taste the unique taste of the food and your taste buds won’t be overloaded by taste.

Let’s see their most ordered food in Kuching:

Dry Bak Kut Teh（招牌乾肉骨茶） - Pork ribs, 3-layer meat, lean meat, meatball, and lady’s fingers that are braised long enough to seal in the flavour. It’s great to pair it with rice.

Fu Zhou Chicken With Red Wine（福州红糟酒鸡） - Delicacy of the Foochow. It has distinct taste and fragrance. The chicken meat is cooked with Fu Zhou red wine lees. They only cook it when you order it.

Chicken Mushroom（蘑菇花雕鸡） - Most children will love this. The chicken meat is braised with Huadiao Wine.

Foo Chow Mee Sua（福州鸡汤面线） is one of their signature dishes. As the name suggested it, the ingredients for this dish are the famous mee sua by the Foochow and red or yellow Chinese wine for the broth.

Perserved Egg with Tau Fu（皮蛋冻豆腐）

Big/Small Bone（大骨／小骨）

Vegetable Claypot（蔬菜生褒）

Plum Cucumber Juice（冰镇酸梅青瓜汁） - Made from freshly blend cucumber and added with some plums for that special taste. It doesn’t only quench your thirst but also good for your health.

Black Crystal（黑砖奶茶） - This special milk tea is not only refreshing but also rich in flavour. If you like milk tea, you should try this out.

Three Colour Pudding（三色鲜奶布丁） - You can only find this in Go. Fun Kee. The bowl of pudding comes in a combination of 3 different pudding flavours. The pudding texture is smooth and soft. You can also opt for a single flavour. The flavours available are mango, honey dew, strawberry, yam, chocolate, and passion fruit.

2 Colour Shian Chao（招牌双色凉粉） - A combination of two different tastes of shian chao. Something special that you should try.

When I was in Singapore, I came across many Uzumaki kiosks.

This is the one located at Bugis but I didn’t buy the ice cream from this kiosk.

Later at the day, I came across it again at Chinatown. I bought my Uzumaki ice cream at the The FirePlace at 268 South Bridge Road.

The ice cream on display, they are not real but they looked real.

I went for the Matcha-ah. It cost me SGD3 for this small cup.

Matcha-ah, the signature product of Uzumaki, is made from the best green tea leaves from Japan.

This little cup consisted of whole tea leaves with all the nutrients that come with it.

The ice cream was rich and creamy and the texture was quite heavy. It’s different from the usual ice cream that I tasted before.
