This is an old post but for unknown reason, it went missing. So post it again. Went to KL in January 2008 and we managed to try out bak kut teh at Klang, Selangor.

One of the popular bak kut teh shops in Klang called “Chung Lu Wa Bao Rou Gu Cha”. You can also see the the yellow cloth there written “Shi Yen Chai Rou Gu Cha” in Chinese.

The said bak kut teh. Very thick bak kut teh. Four persons only RM30+

Not sure about the location also. If you would like to have it, you have to ask the locals in Klang about it.

In fact this was a very old post, 1 or 2 years ago. Updated in here before but I have not idea where it gone too. It just gone missing.

Restoran Soo Huat is popular in Melaka. According to my friend that brought me here, they serve the best bak kut teh. They are also famous for their sweet and sour pork leg, yellow wine chicken(direct translation from the Chinese name), and Thai assam fish.

There are many celebrities that had dined in this restaurant before, you can see many signatures and newpapers report there.

Tea is the best drink to compliment bak kut teh in West Malaysia. However, in Kuching, I don’t think this is the case.

The bak kut teh that is very famous.

I have no idea of the exact location but if you are in Melaka, I’m sure the locals will know where it’s located.

One of the famous Bak Kut Teh places in Kuching is now available at Ban Hock Road. Just next to Ting Noodle House.

Let’s see what they have to offer for 4 persons:

Rice, included in the set. Since there were 4 persons, they suggested us to order 2 sets of bak kut teh, each set for 2 persons.

The chili that is a must for bak kut teh lovers.

One set is the usual bak kut teh, RM13 for two persons.

Another set is dry bak kut teh, RM16 for two persons. Something different that you can get there. It’s quite spicy if you cannot tolerate spicy food. You can ask them to skip the chili if you want but the taste wouldn’t be the same.

You can also order extra vegetable, this the RM5 stir fried vegetable.

If you want to get good bak kut teh in Kuching, this is one place you can go. They have a variety of drinks too such as bubble milk tea and various desserts.

In Cantonese, it’s called “Foon Hey Dei Cha Chan Teng”. In Mandarin it’s called “Huan Le Di Cha Chan Ting”. The English name is derived from the Cantonese pronounciation, just my guess but don’t you think it sounds similar?

Here’s one place that many Kuchingites like to have lok-lok. It’s called Lok-Lok. Situated at the same row as San Francisco Grill or Michelle Bridal at Ban Hock Road. It’s only open at night.

Let’s see what Lok-Lok has to offer:

Nasi lemak+chicken wing, no price available.

Nasi lemak+curry chicken, if not mistaken it’s RM4.50

Besides nasi lemak, they also have fried kueh tiao, fried noodle and more.

Definitely lok-lok is available there. It’s dipped in boiling water instead of fried which is a healthier version.

Ginseng bak kut teh too!

Order a set of claypot bak kut teh for 2, the total is RM34.80, add-on 2 more bowls of rice, it’s RM36.80.

Some views of the place. It seems like many people like to dine there. I guess it’s because they serve bak kut teh which and other warm dishes can keep you warm at night because it can be quite cold after the rain.

If you are hoping to catch some TV shows there, I’m sorry to tell you that there’s no tv stands with TVs available there :P
