Here… Some photos to share with you for the Kuching Festival Food Fair.

Date: 31st July – 22nd August
Time: 6pm – 11pm
Place: Dewan Masyarakat

The entrance. Just going to show you the surrounding, food will come in coming post(s) because I’m still collecting them.

As usual, you can always find the same old stalls every year without fail.

There are also news ones. It seems like there’s more stalls this year compare to the past.

More stalls…

Was caught with surprise when I smelt durian smell. You got to be kidding me! Sell durian in food fair?!?! WOW! I hope the tourists won’t be shooed away by it. Anyway, there’s many people lining up to buy the food there. Seems like it’s quite a hit.

Various associations were given the chance to sell there too. You can find food from various races/dialects there.

Another section of the food far.

This stall has the most “advanced” banner.

Food photos will come soon, maybe in the coming post.

金芳阁海鲜(Golden Court Seafood)is located at Rock Road.

Went there for the crab of course after seeing the offer in the newspapers.

Went there around 3-4pm, that explains the emptiness of the place.

Only RM13.80/kilo, this is the offer I mentioned just now. It’s for small sized crabs, if big ones, you will need to pay RM18/kilo.

Lemongrass clams(small), RM10.

Mongolian Chicken, RM10.

Sea Cucumber Soup(RM10), the portion was enough for 3-4 people.

I think Pan Mee in KL is just like Kolo Mee in Kuching. This eatery is located at Jalan Berangan. I’m not sure its Malay or English name of the place. The Chinese name for this place is 添記(老地方)板面.

I found out that they have another branch at Jalan Alor called Uncle Lim板麵(林記茶餐室). Both are pretty well-known among the locals. The two sisters are the persons behind these famous eateries.

I have problem finding the writeup of this particular place online in English. Will try my best to share more with you.

We went there for lunch. It’s was so packed!

Was quite lost in what to order. Luckily they had set lunch promotion and we went for it. It made the ordering so much easier, there’s a list there on the table. The set came with the pan mee + fish ball + meat ball + drink + a pack of facial tissue. Small set was RM7.50 and big set was RM8. There were 16 types of pan mee dishes for you to choose!

Here’s what we ordered:

Flat soup. The pan mee was served in soup along with dried anchovies, mushrooms, sweet leaf, meat balls, and fish balls.

Flat dry.

Thin dry.

All right, I know the names sound weird, I just quote from the menu.

You can choose to have herbal tea(the brownish yellowish one) or cincau(black one) for the drink either hot or cold.

It seems like Ipoh Town Kopitiam is expanding quite fast in Kuching. First outlet in Kuching is located at Boulevard Shopping Mall, then came another one at Brighton Square. Now the third one at Tun Jugah.

Their signature drink is Ipoh “White” Coffee. This roast coffee is prepared using a unique method that combines elements of modern approaches with traditional Malaysian brewing practices. The name “white coffee” is associated with Ipoh, the origin of this coffee.

They also served a variety of local favourites such as nasi lemak, curry chicken rice, variety of toast and more.

This one here is Xi Mu Milk Tea(RM2.60), I don’t drink coffee. I forgot to take photo of it, only remembered after a few sips ;p

Since it’s located at the golden triangle of Kuching, the place is always packed especially during lunch and tea breaks(morning and afternoon).

If you have My Privilege Book, you can get various offers using the coupons or just present your card and enjoy 10% off the total bill(for dine-in only).

You can also find Ipoh Town Kopitiam in Miri. I came to know about this place when I went to Miri few years back. Few years later, it finally landed here in Kuching.

The operating hour is from 10am-10pm daily.
