Swan Teem Steamboat is located at RH Plaza. There’s several steamboat shops there and one of them is Swan Teem.

Not many people because it’s a weekday.

We were told that you can get mussels there but when we were there, there’s no mussel in sight. Quite disappointed.

For adult, it’s RM18 per person.
For children, it’s RM12 per person.

No wastage is allowed just like any other place. You will be charge for the amount of waste.

The Original CarWash Restaurant located at Palm Road. Just opposite of ING office. Before you reach there, you can see Satay House on your right, then Singapore Chicken Rice on your left. It’s just further up and you will see it.

Very different atmosphere. You can get your car wash there at dine at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone. However, the car wash is more expensive that the normal one you get in the market because of the technology used.

The place looked very high class and the enviroment is really great.

You can opt to dine outside if you like to smoke and dine.

The inside of the restaurant. The interior decor is very interesting.

I’m sure it’s a great place to have a romantic or relaxing quiet dinner with your loved ones.

The lighting is not too dark and not too bright. It’s very comfortable and soothing.

The menu.

Very simple design. In fact you can download it from their website, http://www.theoriginalcarwash.com

Drink available: Dragonfruit Juice (RM6.50), Berries Thicks (RM5), P. Butter Chocolate (RM5), Orange Juice (RM5.50).

For your information, this blog is going to move to another web hosting when we are free. It is still a Malaysia web hosting. Several other blogs and forums of ours were moved over already.

So far this is the best hosting for forums. We tried others before and they either had frequent down time or they don’t have enough bandwidth to support our forums. We’ve been using it for more than a year already and we are very satisfied with it. Here’s some information if you need. Do visit their website for more details.

Bombastic Cafe is not stranger to many people as they exist for years already. It’s just right opposite the shoplot of the Padungan Fire Station. It’s at the same row as RHB.

Sorry, don’t remember the name of the drink. It’s one of the ice blended drink available. I don’t remember the price. Sorry.

If I’m not mistaken, this is buttered chicken rice, no idea about the price too.

Volca Cafe is one of the latest nightspots in Kuching. It’s located at the Ban Hock Road. It’s visible from the roadside, same row as the no-longer-in-operation Tsui Hua Lou. It’s at the corner, previously was AHA.

The interior. Only opened not so long ago, 2-3 months ago if not mistaken. At first I thought it’s some cafe but it’s actually a nightspot.

Sorry about the very dark photo, well… As you know places like this is always dark.

One of the decors you can find there.

Obviously we are late in posting this. It’s that time of the year again! Kuching Festival is always related to the food fair instead of other events. Food is much more popular choice. The fair started on 1st August this year and will end on 24th August.

Entrance to Kuching Festival Fair 2008.

From the photo, it looked quite blank because we went there early. It’s a popular place for people to buy some food back for dinner.

Many office workers would also drop by here to have dinner before going home.

One last photo of the stall. Food photos will come soon in this post.

If you notice it when you dine out, many places do not charge your 5% sales tax anymore. If you are still charged, do contact the authority about if you are patronising a non-hotel restaurant whose total sales is not more than RM3 million a year.

Here’s the contact details if you are charged service tax by restaurants that are now exempted at cd@customs.gov.my or call 03-88822605/10.

The government has abolished the requirement for such restaurants to pay service tax effective July 1.

All restaurants operating outside hotels were previously required to pay the tax if their individual sales over 12 months exceeded the threshold of RM500,000.

As for restaurants in hotels, they are still required to pay service tax of 5% regardless of their sales amounts.

Restaurants in hotels with 25 rooms or less are only required to pay the 5% tax if their sales values exceed RM500,000 per year.

Do take note.
